Would You Be Friends With Yourself if You Were Someone Else? #MondayMotivation #MondayBlogs #inspira

"It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice." -- John Templeton

Would you be friends with yourself if were someone else?

Be honest here.

I was scrolling through Twitter over the weekend and I was absolutely appalled by the amount of hate and vitriol I saw. I wanted to pull everyone into a group hug and tell them to be nice to each other.

Just because you don't agree with someone's views or opinions doesn't give you the right to lash out.

This morning I came across this quote and it has instantly become my mantra for the rest of the year. While it's a blessing to be an important person, it's better to be nice to others.

I come across a bunch of people who don't agree with my books, my thoughts and my personal views. Do I lash out at them? No way! I accept their freedom to express themselves even if I don't agree with them. Even if they're trolls and are just on the hunt for a victim to abuse.

Listen, no matter what, every person on Earth is entitled to their beliefs and deserves to be treated with respect. You may not agree with them but you do not have the right to spew hate in their direction, even if it is in self-defense. Instead, shower them with niceness. They won't know what to do and will leave to get into a social media war with someone else.

Wouldn't it be nice if everyone treated each other with kindness and respect?
