"Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it." -- Charles R. Swindoll
When life hands you lemons, do you throw them back or do you make lemonade?
This week has been a trying week for me. Stress is weighing me down and just when I thought I was on the right track yesterday morning, my internet dropped. My first response was a very colourful expletive.
But then I gave myself a shake and came up with a plan of attack. I called our provider and they said it was an outage in my area and crews were on-route to fix the problem. I hung up and did what any writer would do: I worked on my upcoming release.
Less than two hours later, I had internet and went back to work online. It wasn't the end of the world but it would've felt like it if I had freaked out. My response to one of life's hiccups made it easier to bear.
Listen, we all go through little disruptions. The key to getting back on our feet is all in our reactions and actions. Choosing to see past the woe is me feeling and moving forward on the road of life is what's most important.
Today, pay special attention to your reactions. Instead of flying off the handle or letting your anxiety get the better of you, take a few deep breaths and react in a positive way.
