Title: Filthy English (British Bad Boys Book 2)

Author: Ilsa Madden-Mills

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Book Blurb:

From Wall Street Journal Best-selling Author Ilsa Madden-Mills comes a new, full-length STANDALONE novel about HOT British alphas.

A smokin' hot British player...

A jilted girl...

One night of mistaken identity...

Two weeks before her wedding, Remi Montague's fiancé drops her faster than a drunken sorority girl in stilettos. Armed with her best friend and a bottle of tequila, she hops a plane to London to drown her sorrows before fall semester begins at Whitman University.

She didn't plan on attending a masquerade party. She sure didn't plan on waking up next to the British bad boy who broke her heart three years ago--the devastatingly handsome and naked Dax Blay. Furthermore, she has no clue how they acquired matching tattoos.

Once back at Whitman together, they endeavor to pretend they never had their night of unbridled passion in London.

But that's damn hard to do when you live in the same house...

One night. Two damaged hearts. The passion of a lifetime.

*A modern love story inspired by Romeo and Juliet*

**no one dies in the writing of this novel**

This is a full-length novel.

My Review:

A modern love story inspired by Romeo and Juliet, only the author promises no one dies in this tale.

Remi Montague is supposed to be on her honeymoon with her perfect man. Instead, she’s in London and jilted. Since her former fiancée broke up with her two weeks before the wedding and she couldn’t get a refund on pretty much everything, she’s spending her honeymoon with her best friend, Lulu.

Remi and Lulu are at the Masquerade, a ritzy club in London where everyone dons masks, and Remi here’s for one thing: drowning her sorrows in a bottle of tequila and hopefully in the embrace of a sexy rebound guy. A little tipsy, she falls into the lap of a beautiful man with a British accent. She flirts with him and he flirts back. When they kiss, and he whispers, “Remi…”, her heart drops down to her shoes. Dax. In all the bars in the world, why did he have to crash into this one?

Dax is spending the summer with his cousin, Spider, and is back in London. The summer’s been good for him and keeping an eye on his cousin is fun but one kiss from the one woman who brought him to his knees causes his world to shatter. Remi… the three-night stand whom he never forgot, no matter how many women he slept with. While fate plays a cruel joke on him and they keep crossing paths in London, he’s struggles to keep his distance. But once they return to Whitman College, will he be able to resist their fierce attraction or is he already a goner?

This is my first book by this author and I have to admit, I freakin’ LOVED it! Both Remi and Dax are broken souls, guarding themselves again past hurts, yet unable to deny their sizzling connection. Their pain is a tangible thing and I found myself crying right along with them, urging them to give their relationship a second chance. The similarities between Filthy English and Romeo and Juliet are easy to spot which only adds to the charm of the story. The ending… my goodness… I nearly peed my pants!

If you’re looking for a gut-wrenching romance that gives you all the feels (from bliss to inconsolable grief), pick this up right now!

Warning: If swearing and hot kissing scenes are not your thing, you may want to take a pass on this one.

Favorite Character/Quote: “Emotion tore at me. Regret. Lust. Love. Real love.”
