Confession: I am a shy person.
I have always been shy and my nose buried deep in a book.
Looking back, I wish I was more outgoing and when I turned thirty, I decided I was going to get out of my shell. I was a manager at a bookstore and I absolutely loved my job. I had a lot of friends and started doing things outside my comfort zone, things I was passionate about. I met MR N and the rest, they say, is history.
When I published for the first time, a publicist asked me for a picture. I panicked. My shyness took over and I huddled in a corner. MR N grabbed my hand and he convinced me that it was okay. After battling with myself, I decided to give it a go.
Why did I do it?
I didn't want to be the shy girl I used to be. I was living my dream of being a published author and NOTHING (not even me) was going to stand in my way!
I love this quote and it speaks the truth, especially to shy people. The one sure-fire way to overcome shyness is to get involved with something you are passionate about. You focus on your passion and forget about being shy. Trust me, it totally works.
The next time you are feeling shy, focus on something else and you will be confident!
