Book Review | The Saturn Line by Colleen McManus Hein #paranormal #suspense #ghostthriller #bookrevi

Title: The Saturn Line

Author: Colleen McManus Hein

Genre: Paranormal Suspense, Ghost Thriller

Book Blurb:

In the sequel to "Spirit Talk," Fiona travels to the psychic research facility with Martin. After her first few days, though, Fiona cannot understand her grandmothers' message sent in a dream: "You have to go because you have to stop them." Stop them from what? Although one building on the grounds is menacingly haunted, the mansion which houses the facility is gorgeous, and the psychic experiments are fascinating but harmless. Phyllis, the woman who runs the facility, is kind and intelligent. As Fiona gets more involved with the other participants, she forgets about her grandmothers' warning...that is, until Richard, Phyllis' husband, comes home. With his appearance, the "real work" expected of the participants begins, culminating in a terrifying chain of events. "The Saturn Line" is the second installment in the new paranormal suspense series everyone is spirit-talking about.

My Review:

“You have to go because you have to stop them.”

Fiona’s grandmother issued this warning in a dream yet Fiona has no idea what the warning means. Stop who? Why?

She travels with Martin to the psychic research facility, not knowing what her future holds or what will happen. All she knows is that she needs to follow this path and see where it leads. The “pod” and the people there are very nice. There’s Phyllis, the woman who runs it along with her husband Richard. Richard doesn’t come around very often but when he does, the real psychic work begins.

Fiona befriends everyone there including Betsy, Connie, Alvin and Max. Each one has a special ability and uses it in various ways. Since they’re close in age, Fiona and Betsy become best friends. Just when Fiona is feeling at home, Richard returns. Suddenly, the air crackles with tension and he pushes everyone to their psychic limits, including Fiona. All is not as it seems and when Fiona has a vision that contradicts Richard’s pleas, she’s afraid to speak up. An unspeakable event takes place and everything Fiona believes erupts. Can she escape and secure her own Saturn Line or has she made a deadly choice?

The Saturn Line picks up right where Spirit Talk ends and we explore the lessons Fiona learns about her psychic abilities. Each character from Martin to Phyllis to even Betsy go through so much in this tale but it’s Fiona I’m captivated with. Her growth is astronomical as she gains confidence in her abilities as well as interacting with others. The author’s research into psychic experiments is well conceived and accurate. Plenty of twists and turns leading to an explosive climax I didn’t see coming makes this a must read.

If you’re a fan of paranormal suspense, you’ll love The Saturn Line. I loved it and I can’t wait for book three!
