Through tragedy and misfortune, Antonia yearns for love... can a carriage accident bring her yuletide wish to fruition? After her mother's death, Antonia sought love from her father but he rejected her. When she married Dracon, Lord Tawden, she innocently thought he'd love her. Instead, his heart still belongs to his deceased wife, Catherine. Facing utter loneliness and feeling second-rate, Antonia runs away. Hearing the news of her father's near-death state, she wonders if the time has come to make amends with her father. She travels home in bad weather and her carriage has a horrid accident. Antonia awakens to find herself at her husband's estate. Will Antonia spend another yuletide in utter despair or will Dracon gift her what her heart desires most?
A Marchioness for Christmas is a heart-wrenching tale of one woman's search for love, acceptance, and companionship. If you're a historical romance reader and you've never read Alanna Lucas, you're in for a treat. She takes great pride in crafting romance that is historically accurate with authentic characters and a riveting plot. In A Marchioness for Christmas, we see a darker side of Regency romance. Antonia loses her mother and all the joy and happiness in her life is snatched away. Her father makes all her decisions for her, and she marries a man who still mourns his first wife. Talk about sad. My heart went out to Antonia over and over again. The writing is so intricate, I got swept away. An emotional romance from start to finish, A Marchioness for Christmas will move you to tears. Highly recommend!
