A flash of lightning lit up the night sky followed by several more. As the plane started its descent into New York, it circled several times in the bumpy, choppy air before the pilot finally told them they were cleared to land. Jessie was grateful. If they would’ve had to go around one more time dipping and turning followed by banking to the side, she would have screamed. As it was, a few passengers had when the plane seemed to drop and lurch forward. Thankfully, the captain set the big bird down nice and easy in an uneventful landing. The spontaneous cheers brought a smile to her face as she unclenched her fingers one at a time from the arms of the seat. “Well, my dears, that was a tense welcome home. That’s the roughest few minutes we’ve had the entire time.” Sadie patted her granddaughters’ hands. “We can breathe now.”

Iona Morrison is a multi-published, award-winning author who writes romantic suspense with a touch of paranormal. she enjoys writing fiction. The character development, their stories, and the twists and turns in the plot intrigue her. She is hooked from the first words on the paper and has to keep writing to see how the story ends.
Iona lives in Colorado with her husband and family who have supported her in this chapter of life. She is a member of the Colorado Authors League and RMFWPAL (Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers Published Authors League) and has enjoyed becoming involved in her community as one of the many authors living in Colorado.
