Title: A Snowball’s Chance
Author: Ally Hayes
Genre: Contemporary Romance (Sweet)
Book Blurb:
Native Californian, Kennedy Moore, is bequeathed a house in rural Indiana by her beloved Aunt Maggie. Kennedy agrees to give the one-year deal a chance, but when she is bombarded with small-town life, she knows she'll be on the first plane west by next Christmas. With trepidation, she attends the neighborhood Christmas cookie exchange offering her pathetic attempt at making snowball cookies. Unbeknownst to her, Aunt Maggie was famous for the treat. But Kennedy is in for her own treat when she runs into another millennial transplant at the party, and when she and Luke hit it off, her snowball's chance at staying in suburbia takes a surprising turn.
Excerpt:
This is amazing. I could stay in his arms all night. I can even hear angels singing. Oh, no. That’s real singing and it sounds close. Kennedy pulled away and pouted. “Do you hear that?”
“No.” Luke kissed her neck.
“Yeah,” Kennedy whispered. “Me neither.”
Cupping her chin, Luke resumed the kiss.
The singing grew louder.
Her eyes flew open. Through the bay window, she spied a crowd gathered on her lawn. “Luke.” Kennedy tapped Luke’s shoulder. “We’re being watched.”
Straightening, Luke swiveled to look out the window. “Carolers.”

What I love most about the holiday season:
Gathering with family. Twenty-six years ago, I moved from 1000 miles from my family of origin, but I spend Thanksgiving with them and Christmas with the family I married. We strike a good balance and get the Christmas ball (snowball?) rolling the day after Thanksgiving.
Why is your featured book a must-read to get you in the holiday mood?
Poppy Lane’s neighborhood decorations and festivities might seem aggressive, but they instill an enthusiasm even the biggest of grinches can’t resist.
