As much as Grayson didn’t want to admit it, Jericho made a good point. He needed to come clean. If she found out on her own, all hope of being with her would be gone. Gone and wouldn’t ever come back.
Several minutes later, Kristin came out and sat beside him. “Vertigo attacked Cole. I got her to back off, but it’s reasonable to expect she won’t keep her word. She admitted to me she plans to Kill jack and Adam. She anted to have Cole with her now, too. I’m not sure how time they have left.”
He turned to look at her. “Where’s Jericho? Did you tell him?”
“Yes. He’s with Cole. I think it would be best if I stayed with him until he’s better.”
“Why are you out here?”
“I thought you’d like to know what I found out.” Kristin turned to go back inside. “I know you have secrets. Remember, everyone in our line of work has secrets. Even me.”
He turned and stared at her. “And what’s your big secret? It can’t be worse than mine.”
“Are you sure? Well, here it is.” She stood. “I’m not a real human.”
AS she walked back into the house, her cryptic statement rooted him to the spot. He knew his magical origin, but Kristin? He stared at the door. She had to be human. What else could she be?

Author Biography:
Annette Miller grew up in Baltimore and married an Air Force man, getting the chance to see Germany and most of the United States. Always a fan of superhero stories, science fiction, fantasy, and horror novels, she didn't discover romance until her oldest son was two. Then, she couldn't get enough. After getting introduced to tabletop role playing games, her and her husband’s characters began to develop their own stories, which obviously needed to be written. Soon, her imagination took over, and she combined her two loves. Because she loves the woods, she tries to work in a little magic and new takes on fairy tales in her stories.
