Book Blurb:
Help me! I am a girl lost and alone. I do not know who I am or where I am. Please find me.
When the woman awoke, she did not know much. She knew her head hurt and her body ached. She knew there was blood streaking the side of her face, obscuring her vision. She knew the sun was beating down on her, hot and ruthless. But she did not know how she had gotten here, in this sandy, desert hell. She did not know where her injuries had come from. Most importantly, she did not know who she was.
Faydra “Spider” Green is a spirited Navy lawyer who wants nothing more than to do the right thing and to see justice done. After reconciling with her father, former President William Green, Fay is asked to investigate the mysterious disappearance of Alvin Joe, a retired admiral who has vanished - seemingly into thin air - from his Florida home, along with secret files for a top-secret military weapon. Alongside her bubbly, quick-witted sister and a handsome, affable Sheriff, Fay sets out to track down Joe. But she soon finds herself embroiled in a deeper and far more sinister plot involving an unscrupulous corporation, the mafia, and a truly evil man who has his sights set on destroying her.
My Review:
A missing retired admiral, a woman who doesn’t know her own name, and Fay trying to unravel the mystery. After reconciling with her father (former President Willian Green), Faydra wants justice and truth to prevail, in and out of the courtroom. As a lawyer for the Navy, she wears many hats, including rescue missions and spying on America’s enemies. She is asked to investigate the disappearance of retired Admiral Alvin Joe. He and the top-secret files of a military weapon have vanished into thin air. What happened? Questions and scenarios float in Fay’s mind but she must figure it out for herself. Along with her sister and Sheriff, Faydra investigates what’s happened. The further she digs, the more sinister the plot becomes. Human trafficking, Russian mafia, and prostitution are all tied to the disappearance plus the emergence of an old enemy. He won’t stop until she’s six feet in the ground. Can Faydra rescue those in need, complete her mission and bring those responsible to justice?
Arid Sea is a Navy spy thriller I couldn’t put down. Faydra is back for an exciting thriller and Arid Sea didn’t disappoint. The action takes off right away and I enjoyed every minute of it. The plot moved at a fast clip with plenty of adrenaline-fueled twists to keep the reader guessing. The descriptive narration was so intense, the reader becomes a part of the story. Every detail was intricately described so the reader gets a VR vibe while reading. Faydra is a ‘kick butt and take names’ later heroine and I kept rooting for her. The subplot on human trafficking broke my heart in its truthful accuracy. If you’re a fan of thrillers, you’ll want to read Arid Sea. Another brilliantly written gem by Norm Harris. I can’t wait to read the next in the series. Highly recommend!

Author Biography:
Norm Harris' first novel debuted on an Amazon bestseller list in 2002. It was a one-and-done, but now he's back with a plan to publish the Spider Green Mystery Thriller Series from the first mystery/thriller of days gone by.
Except for time spent in military service, he is a second-generation Seattleite (that's what they call those who dwell in the shadow of Mt. Rainier), with his legal beagle son, K-K, and five giant tropical fish. Norm's stories spring from his memories of people who he has met and places and the places he has visited as he traveled the world. Diversity, inclusion, and equality are foremost in each story. "Fay is an admirable, tough, brilliant protagonist." said one reviewer. Said another, "Lt Commander Faydra Green from the JAG Corps is a “take no prisoners” protagonist..."
Watch for his four upcoming first quarter 2022 novels, "Fruit of the Poisonous Tree", "Arid Sea", "Deception Pass", and "The Girl Who Knew Death" in what he hopes to be an award-winning mystery thriller series. And in late 2022 his fifth book in the series "Rain and Wind and Fire".
