Title: Bassist’s Instincts
Author: MJ Schiller
Genre: Contemporary Rockstar Romance, Rockstar Romantic Suspense
Book Blurb:
He’s a bad boy. She’s a bad girl. When their worlds collide, nothing will be the same again.
Dakota Blackstone plays bass for one of the hottest bands in the country, Insatiable Fire. That’s why he’s confused when Hali Cole’s manager comes to him and proposes that they sing a duet.
I mean, Hali’s cool and all that, but I’m not the lead singer of the band, my brother Phoenix is. But, they insisted they have the right Blackstone brother, so I thought I’d give it a try. I’ve known Hali for forever, but she was always on the arm of some other guy. But now—when she’s trying to pull her life together—it might not be the right time for me to take action on those feelings I have for her, which have always lurked just under the surface of our relationship.
Hali Cole has been a guy’s play toy for too long. She’s ready to live her life on her own.
Now is definitely not the right time to get involved with Dak. I’ve always loved him for being the brash, cocky, loud, unfiltered Blackstone brother. But I need to not feel this undercurrent of attraction I have for him. He’d be just another heartache, and I don’t need it.
But when danger rears its ugly head, will the two be pulled together or torn apart? And who is it that has it out for Insatiable Fire? Should Dak trust his bassist’s instinct?
My Review:
Dakota is the bassist for the hottest band but his crush on singer Hali won’t go away. When he agrees to sing a duet with her, he’s in uncharted territory. It’s the wrong time to delve into a relationship, especially when someone is trying to split up the band. Should Dak trust his bassist instincts or is he in too deep?
Bassist’s Instincts is a smashing good rockstar romantic suspense. The narration hooked me from the very first page to the last. The romance is unrequited gets a second chance. There’s a bit of suspense that had my mind reeling. It’s the characters who drive the beat of this romance, like the bass thrumming in the speakers.
I love, love, LOVE these characters. Both are in the music business and know the price of fame. Both Dak and Hali are coined as bad, but I think they’re deliciously good. They play off each other and the sexual tension is off the charts. Dak and Hali belong together but the journey reads like a rock ballad, full of heartbreak and bumpy roads.
I can’t recommend this book enough. The writing is flawless, and you’ll swoon over this couple. Grab your copy today.

Author Biography:
Bestselling author M.J. Schiller is a retired lunch lady/romance-romantic suspense writer. She enjoys writing novels whose characters include rock stars, desert princes, teachers, futuristic Knights, construction workers, cops, and a wide variety of others. In her mind everybody has a romance. She is the mother of a twenty-two-year-old and three twenty-year-olds. That's right, triplets! So having recently taught four children to drive, she likes to escape from life on occasion by pretending to be a rock star at karaoke. However…you won’t be seeing her name on any record labels soon.
