Title: Between Today and Someday
Author: Ann M. Trader
Genre: Sweet Romance
Book Blurb:
Prim Vreeland is an emergency department nurse, and after a string of disappointing relationships, her own heart needs life support. On a leap of faith, she moves home and is surprised when her brother’s best friend—and her secret childhood crush—has the same idea. As attraction sparks, she finds her usual steady footsteps treading on quicksand. Sportfishing media influencer Chase Bova realizes it’s time to swap life on the road for hometown roots. When he crosses paths with Prim, she tangles his line, tying it in knots. Her charm reminds him why he’d steered clear of her years ago…and should probably do the same now. As their irresistible connection turns into romance, questions of honesty and commitment linger. Will Prim and Chase dig deep for the courage to face their past and together, discover what really lies between today and someday?
My Review:
Prim Vreeland has moved back to Three Creeks, home. She has a large family who supports and loves her. She needs a small-town atmosphere to bounce back after a string of disappointing relationships. As a nurse, she’s happy with the lower stress level of the hospital compared to the big city.
What she doesn’t know, until she’s been there a few days, is her childhood crush, Chase Bova, has also returned to Three Creeks. He’s tired of life on the road with his successful sportfishing media career. What else Prim doesn’t know is he had as big a crush on her as she had on him way back when.
The attraction is immediate when they meet up after all those years. Romance blooms fast, so fast, the reader is left wondering what problems could possibly come between them. But don’t hold that thought too long. These two have serious baggage that gets in the way. Chase’s lifestyle and attitude have long-been aimed at no serious relationships. And Prim is determined to not let another man break her heart.
While Prim’s family offers us a cast of minor characters to love, Chase’s childhood was not so pretty. Lovers of romance will be thoroughly engrossed in the high-octane angst that volleys between these two main characters. Coming to grips with their pasts, Chase’s struggle to overcome a family problem, and an accident we don’t see coming will make reaching the happily ever after a twisty emotional path romance readers will love.
