Title: Hand of Magic: #4 - Ghosts

Author: Diane Moat

Genre: Paranormal Romance, Romantic Fantasy

Book Blurb:

A lost father. A betrayal within the Pack. And now, the decision which haunts Madison begins to, well, haunt her.

What would you do if you kept seeing a ghost, yet no one believed you?

Even Madison’s sexy mate can’t distract from her fear. As the Hand makes preparations for an upcoming world war while one of their own turns traitor, the Healer fears a recent gravesite has spit forth its shadowy contents to seek her out for revenge.

Can Madison convince those she loves of the existence of her phantom stalker as it becomes more violent? When she finds her father, has he been hiding or is the answer more sinister? And when the Hand must finally deal with the monster in their midst, which one of them doesn’t survive?

Ghosts is the fourth novel in the Hand of Magic series, featuring an erotic fantasy adventure within a world of magic and danger.

My Review:

Madison is being hunted by a ghost yet her mate, Alex, refuses to acknowledge it. He doesn’t believe in ghosts but tries to allay her fears the best way he knows how. When the apparition appears on surveillance video, Madison’s fear is realized. Whatever Alex wants to call it, the spirit of the wizard she killed to save Alex is haunting her. Alex calls in the one man who’ll know how to deal with whatever is going on. Madison doesn’t trust the wizard as far as she can throw him but they’ll need all the help they can get because these hauntings are the work of a vengeance goddess. Will Madison and her Hand be able to make peace with the vengeance goddess or will she kill them all?

In this story, we see Madison and her Hand dealing with an enemy they can’t see, let alone fight. The question of choices made in the past haunting the present is an underlying theme in this book. It’s something we all face but when it’s thrust in a paranormal setting, it’s an exhilarating read. There’s a lot going on so the plot moves at a fast pace. Plenty of action, drama, and mystical elements with betrayal and love sprinkled throughout. My surprise at the mysticism at the climax only added to my enjoyment. One of the best books I’ve read in a long time.

If you love Kelly Armstrong and K.F. Breene, pick up Hand of Magic: #4 – Ghosts. Highly recommend!
