Title: Love Overboard
Author: Rachelle Paige Campbell
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Sweet Contemporary Romance
Book Blurb:

My Review:
Caitlyn is finally taking the vacation she’s always dreamt, an Alaskan cruise, only instead of sharing the cabin with her sister, she’s sharing it with her ex-fiancé, Adam. Talk about awkward. When she bumps into Greg, the cruise director she initially met above deck, she explains her dilemma. He’s sympathetic but there’s really nothing he can do. Caitlyn tells a teeny lie, saying she doesn’t know who this Adam is, but it still doesn’t help. She tries to make the best of the cruise but she misses her sister. A chance encounter with Greg offers her the opportunity to overcome her fear and brings them closer. Will Caitlyn finally be free to move on with her life and discover new joys or will her tiny lie destroy everything?
I must admit to having a passion for romance on cruise ships. It takes me back to the days when I watched Love Boat on tv while doing my homework. It’s the ambiance of it all. That same feeling is the undercurrent of Love Overboard. It moves at a slow, steady pace with colorful characters. There’s an immediate attraction between Caitlyn and Greg but it blooms into romance at an easy tempo. The three main characters don’t create a love triangle but instead, help each other move forward in their lives. The plot has its fair share of conflicts but it is well-crafted and the author uses them to challenge the characters. Another triumph for this book is the emotional turmoil Caitlyn and Greg go through. Told in alternating POV, the reader connects with them and feels a part of their story. The ending gave my heart all the feels. Such a sweet romance and one I highly recommend!
Favorite Character/Quote:
Caitlyn. I connected with her from the start. She goes through so much in this story and must screw up her courage, no matter the consequences. She reminded me of a younger me and I kept whispering in her ear to embrace all that life has to offer. Take risks, for the greatest risk (love) is also the most fulfilling.
