N. N. Light’s Book Heaven is celebrating its tenth anniversary. Isn’t that wonderful?
I’d like to introduce you to prolific author Brenda Whiteside.
Question 1: Where were you ten years ago in relation to your author/writer career? If you weren’t writing, what were you doing?
In 2015, I published the second book in a series called Love and Murder with The Wild Rose Press. The series was my first venture into a series, and the series was my first venture into Romantic Suspense.
Question 2: Looking back on the past ten years, how has your writing grown?
IMHO, leaps and bounds. I’ve taken back most of the books I published and have edited them. When I do that, how much better I am at weaving a story and how much better I am at the technical aspects is evident. I’ve also taken my writing skills from one POV and one plot to multiple POVs and incorporate subplots into my books.
Question 3: What are you doing now? How many books have you published?
I currently have multiple projects in the works. I have a co-author for a Cozy Mystery series. Joyce Proell and I are writing the fourth book in the Chocolate Martini Sisters Mysteries. I am on the final edit for the third book in a children’s series, Sadi and Max Chapter Books, published under the names Brenda Sue and Sadi Belle. My granddaughter is my co-author, although she’s more of an idea person. She is doing the illustrations for this third book, so it’s slow in coming. I am rewriting the first book I published way back in 2009 with The Wild Rose Press. As soon as I can get it cleaned up (I love the story but like I said, my skills are better so I’m improving it) I’ll get the rights back and publish it. And I am also writing a prequel for my series, The MacKenzie Chronicles. I have published seventeen books and have been part of three anthologies.
