N. N. Light’s Book Heaven is celebrating its tenth anniversary. Isn’t that wonderful?
Absolutely!
I’d like to introduce author Cynthia Rice.
Question 1: Where were you ten years ago in relation to your author/writer career? If you weren’t writing, what were you doing?
Ten years ago I was still working full time as a physician, so my writing sometimes took a backseat to other responsibilities. I was writing and taking online writing courses through Gotham City and Writers Digest.
Question 2: Looking back on the past ten years, how has your writing grown?
In the past ten years I finished my debut traditionally published novel, The Last Broken Girl, my second novel which I am currently querying The Day She Vanished, and began work on my third. I also began networking with writers through Sisters in Crime, MWA and International Thriller Writers, which includes a great critique group which definitely has improved my prose. In the past two years, I also started to write short stories.
Question 3: What are you doing now? How many books have you published?
Novel #1 was traditionally published eight months ago. I am querying novel #2, working on novel #3, and had a short story published in an anthology in the past month. I am working on another short story to submit to at upcoming conferences Left Coast Crime and on the debut authors panel at International Thriller Writers.
