I get annoyed when I hear accusations from young people that old people are responsible for the destruction of the world's environment.
My goodness! Have they forgotten Rachel Carson, Jane Goodall, Birute Galdikis, and Diane Fossey? What about David Attenborough? And Silvia Earle? And, the many not-so-famous but very active conservationists of older years? Oldsters who remember their vigorous protest days? Standing in front of bulldozers, chaining themselves to trees, rescuing wildlife from fires and oil spills, keeping stranded whales afloat, harassing whaling boats on Sea Shepherd or Rainbow Warrior…
A Treasury of Feel-Good Stories is a growing collection of uplifting short literary fiction. Dealing mainly with environmental themes, these illustrated novellas and short stories will entertain and enlighten. Just the thing for parents and grandparents who wish to create a sense of environmental stewardship in their young ones. Karina McRoberts is an Australian author, illustrator, musician, and theatre producer.
Previously working as a conservation scientist, she was struck down by a mosquito-borne virus. No longer able to work, Karina now spends her time writing fiction to inspire, encourage, enlighten and entertain; especially those readers active in social justice, humanitarian work, and protection of the Earth. Her fiction is filled with characters and stories designed to give you a lift.
Karina also writes self-instruction books on illustration and creative writing. There is something for everybody, children included. Her project this year is assistance to older writers wishing to publish a novel or novella entitled, 'A Novel at Ninety.'
