Title: Everything’s Coming Up Daisy (Last Chance Beach Romance)

Author: Nancy Fraser

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Book Blurb:

Kristen Matthews is a single mother of a very precocious five-year-old named Daisy. When Kristen and Daisy relocate to Last Chance Beach to live with Kristen’s eccentric aunt, Kristen has her reservations. The move brings them in close proximity to her ex-boyfriend’s rich family. Given Daisy’s father never wanted a permanent arrangement, neither he nor Kristen ever told his family about Daisy’s birth.

Ellis Tait has taken over the management of all of Tait Holding’s businesses since his father’s passing. His step-mother prefers her Summerville mansion. His playboy brother hasn’t been seen or heard from in nearly five years, preferring to travel around Europe squandering his inheritance. After a number of intense business negotiations, Ellis travels to the family’s vacation estate on Last Chance Beach for a few weeks of relaxation—not that he ever truly relaxes.

When Kristen and Ellis meet for the first time, Kristen’s determined to keep the secret of Daisy’s heritage to herself. However, the more she gets to know Ellis, the more she realizes he’s nothing at all like his younger brother.

A modern twist on the classic Sabrina. Can this single-mom avoid her ex’s family and hide the fact that her daughter is heiress to the family fortune? Or, will the island magic of Last Chance Beach unite an overworked mom and curmudgeon of a family patriarch in time for a happily-ever-after?

My Review:

Kristen harbors a secret but she's in troubled waters when she falls for a wealthy man. Single mom Kristen adores her five-year-old daughter Daisy and can't imagine life without her. Daisy's father was a rich playboy and he balked when she told him she was pregnant six years ago. She never told his wealthy family about sweet Daisy. Moving home to live with her aunt was risky because the affluent Tait family (her ex's family) has a beach house there. Things get complicated when she meets and befriends Ellis Tait, the elder brother of her ex. There's an immediate attraction and that only spells trouble. He makes her feel special, cherished and cared for. Plus, he is attentive to Daisy. As their relationship progresses, Kristen knows she needs to confess about Daisy. Just as she is about to tell Ellis the truth, in barges her ex and ruins everything. Will Ellis sue for custody, or will these two hearts find a way to love? After all, everything comes up daisies when you're in love.

Everything's Coming Up Daisy is a sweet single mom romance I read in one sitting. I was only planning on reading part of it but wound up reading the whole thing. The setting is a small beach community and Nancy Fraser made it come alive through detailed narration, a full cast of characters, humorous dialogue, and the sweetest little girl you'll ever encounter. Everything's Coming Up Daisy is a modern take on one of my favorite movies. Bravo to Nancy Fraser on a well-crafted story, I connected with Kristen right away. She's such a lovely woman who deserves love. I also connected with Ellis. He's such a strait-laced guy who works too hard. Ellis and Kristen bring out the best in each other. The romance is sweet with just enough sizzle to make a reader's heart melt. If you love romance, you'll want to read Everything's Coming Up Daisy. A great beach read to kick off the summer. Highly recommend!
