My Review:

Jes has returned home to Golvern to take her place as the future queen. She has a lot to overcome including agreeing to marry the man her father arranged for her to marry. How can she marry another when Pade captured her heart and soul back on Earth? There are people in the government who want to steal her power but she won’t let it happen. Little does she know her very life is about to be threatened when she is kidnapped. Will Pade rescue her or is she all alone? Enemies become allies and Jes finally understands the meaning behind the phrase, Fate of War. Who will be left standing and who will sacrifice all for the betterment of Golvern?

I have to admit, after reading Fear Darkness, I knew I had to go back and read Fate of War. Boy, I’m sure glad I did. From the first page to the last, Fate of War is a thrilling dystopian adventure. Being the last book in the series, a lot of loose ends get tied up. The stakes are at an all-time high for Jes and Pade. Secrets are revealed and one mistake puts Jes’ life in danger. The suspense was so intense at one point, I started hyperventilating. I whipped through the pages and ended up reading it in two days. I applaud C.C. Bolick for wrapping up the series brilliantly. I was sad when it ended. This is one book I will have on my keeper shelf and will re-read again and again. Highly recommend!

Favorite Character/Quote:

Pade. In previous books, I’ve disliked Pade. But it took me this long to finally understand him. He’s one of those characters whose complexity masks his true nature until the big moment. Pade has some tough choices to make in this book and his journey from who he was to who he becomes is immense.
