Title: Gravity

Author: Mona Sedrak

Genre: Women’s Fiction, Romance

Book Blurb:

Gravity: A force pulling together people and hearts.

After being shunned by her Middle Eastern family, medical assistant Leila Solomon struggles to build a life for herself and her child. Landscape photographer Aiden Stone built a career seeing what others miss, and the second he meets Leila, he is drawn to her unassuming beauty and fragile strength.

Leila cannot defy the gravitational forces pulling her toward Aiden and to the family who cast her out. To build a future with Aiden, she must face the past but is she strong enough to resist being pulled back into the family fold?

My Review:

“We are as different as two people can be. You are the sun and I the moon.” She met his gaze. “Gravity has me in its grasp, and I can’t defy it.”

Single mum Leila Solomon has a very quiet life but that doesn't stop the loneliness from assaulting her. She loves her young daughter more than life itself but she also misses her family, who shunned her after discovering her unwed pregnancy. She needs some kind of closure with her family but fear grips her. After meeting Aiden Stone and his son, AJ, she's drawn to him and is unable to fight the attraction. Can they make it work? Coming from two very different cultures and upbringings is hard to overcome but when you're dealing with love, sometimes it's best to let Gravity take over.

Gravity by Mona Sedrak a testament to the power of love, both romantic and family. It takes great strength and courage to step out of your comfort zone and love one another. Leila is one of the most courageous heroines I've had the pleasure to read. Mona Sedrak takes on a very personal story and opens the reader's eyes to the struggle many single mums face. Emotional narration, especially from the point of view of Leila, is raw, naked and sometimes painful to read but irresistible, nonetheless. The romance between Leila and Aiden is gradual and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. There's a lot of intense situations going on in Gravity but Mona Sedrak writes them with such poignancy, I loved it. One of the best books I've read this year. Highly recommend!
