N. N. Light’s Book Heaven is celebrating its tenth anniversary. Isn’t that wonderful?
Congratulations! What a wonderful achievement! Thanks for the opportunity to share your joy.
I’d like to introduce you to author Helen C. Johannes.
Question 1: Where were you ten years ago in relation to your author/writer career? If you weren’t writing, what were you doing?
Ten years ago, I had published two fantasy romance novels, THE PRINCE OF VAL-FEYRIDGE and BLOODSTONE, with The Wild Rose Press, finally realizing my long-time dream of being signed by a publisher. It was a thrill to see my work offered worldwide, and BLOODSTONE available even in audio!
Question 2: Looking back on the past ten years, how has your writing grown?
I’ve gained confidence in my “into the mist” writing style and learned to trust my instincts on character and plot development. My trademark theme, “hearts in search of home,” resonates in all my work. Lately, I’ve spread my wings into writing children’s chapter book and picture book fiction, undertakings that have led me into self-publishing. My critique partners and my local writers’ group are stellar at keeping me informed and motivated.
Question 3: What are you doing now? How many books have you published?
I now have five published books. The Crown of Tolem series consists of THE PRINCE OF VAL-FEYRIDGE and LORD OF DRUEMARWIN. BLOODSTONE is a stand-alone fantasy romance. FREDERICK FLY-CATCHER is a children’s chapter book adventure fantasy. And THE DIS’ASTER FAMILY’S HALLOWEEN is my latest, a fun-filled holiday picture book.
Currently, I’m exploring more of the Crown of Tolem world and also working on a YA cozy set in the 1960s.
