Book Blurb:

Can they find common ground, or will civic advancement end their chance at happily ever after?

My Review:

As the new mayor of New Hope, Jill Howell is still adjusting to the role. She loves her small town, so much so, she entered to win a national contest as the best small town. She never thought they had a chance but when she gets notified New Hope is a finalist, she’ll need the whole town’s help to pull it off, including Rob Carroll. A mistake leads to eviction and Rob blames her, her and the city. She tries helping but he outright refuses her assistance in the matter. Suddenly, this couple is on opposing sides of the political arena. New Hope needs a strong mayor and Jill needs Rob by her side. If Jill and Rob can’t figure out a solution, hope for their future will disappear. Can they work together for a brighter future, both in the political ring and in their personal lives, or will Rob’s ex steal their hope for the holidays?

Hope for the Holidays is an unexpected small-town romance. This is the follow-up to Holidays Inc. which I loved. The cast of characters is pretty much the same but this time, it’s Rob and Jill’s story. What makes this unexpected is that the romance is not front and center but plays a secondary role. I found it rather refreshing and modern. Rachelle Paige Campbell writes sweet romance for the enlightened woman of today, who has a career, friends, insecurities, and heavy responsibilities. She also has to battle Rob’s ex. There’s a lot of emotions running high, which propels the plot. The plot moves at a nice easy pace. The intricacies of a small town are put on display in Hope for the Holidays. I found myself transported to New Hope and frankly, I enjoyed the excursion. The characters are likable and add their own quirkiness to the story. If you’re a fan of sweet romance, you’ll love Hope for the Holidays. If you’re looking for an escape from your life for a while, pick up Hope for the Holidays. Any romance reader will enjoy this wholesome small-town story. Highly recommend!
