My Review:
Can Matilda discover what her key opens and solve the puzzle in time? What a beautiful, mysterious romantic suspense. One of the reasons why I love reading Judy Kentrus’ books is her originality. I love a good mystery and this book is chockful of intrigue and clues. The premise is original. The characters will capture your heart. The romance is unexpected and fraught with suspense. I couldn’t stop reading this tale and lost sleep over it.
Let’s start with the world-building. This plot is complex and needs intricate world-building. That’s where Judy Kentrus comes in. She’s built a world that’ll pique any reader’s interest. What does the key open? What is the puzzle? Some of the answers come in this book while others will be revealed in the next books in the series. Compelling and oh so irresistible.
The characters leap from the page and into your heart. I connected with Matilda right away. She’s been through a lot but keeps on living. My heart went out to her many times. Hudson is an enigma character throughout most of the book. I liked him immensely. The other characters are well-written and add depth to the story.
The writing is honest, emotional, and filled with clues. I whipped through the pages the more I got into it. The writing is brilliant with a nice balance of romance, suspense, and mystery.
A great start to a new series, Key to my Heart is a romantic suspense I strongly recommend.
