Excerpt:

The girl was fighting. Jax saw her hair flying in all directions as she fought with everything she had. He hit her square in the face, knocking her to the ground, and blood flowed from her nose. It was evident she was no match for his strength. Her arms had cuts and scrapes from her hands to her elbows, as did her knees. Blood trickled from her lip, and she could feel one of her teeth loosen. Yet she kept scratching and clawing at the man, hoping to hurt him enough that he would let her go. He wore a Richard Nixon mask, the other a wicked clown, and when they loaded her into the truck, she saw a third with a hideous monster mask. Recognition filled the girl’s eyes. These were members of her tribe.
