I’d like to introduce you to prolific romance author Laura M. Baird.
Question 1: Where were you ten years ago in relation to your author/writer career? If you weren’t writing, what were you doing?
Ten years ago, I was two years into writing seriously (while also working FT as a dental hygienist), saving my stories until I decided on what publishing route I was ready to embark.
Question 2: Looking back on the past ten years, how has your writing grown?
Over the years, of course, I’ve gained experience and knowledge; writing more developed stories as well as writing faster. That being said, there have been a few stories that felt like I’d never get written! They just weren’t ‘clicking’, no matter how I tried to approach either the plot or the characters. But eventually, they completed and that much more rewarding for me. I’ve also branched out with my writing in the contemporary romance genre, writing various sub-genres I hadn’t thought I’d ever write. And I’m loving it!
Question 3: What are you doing now? How many books have you published?
I am nearly eight years into my published romance author journey with roughly forty publications (which includes inclusion in anthologies). I also retired from my twenty-four year dental hygiene career at the end of August, 2024. I’m able to devote more time to writing as well as help care for my mother.

Author Biography:
I’m a wife of over thirty-four years, having met my husband while we both served in the US Army. I grew up on the East Coast and now reside in Washington State. We’re blessed with two sons and three grandchildren.
My writing began in grade school and continued on and off over the years, and I had my first romance publication at the age of fifty! Now, eight years later, I’m humbled and honored to have achieved becoming an award winning and bestselling author. I’ve made priceless connections and am loving this journey I’m on.
Hubby and I hope to one day soon, become RV travelers across the US and Canada. When not writing, reading, and enjoying family, I’m watching too many IG reels and anxiously awaiting college football season.
