My Review:
A fresh start is what Matt needs, but an unexpected connection has him reeling. A promotion at work leads to a proposal, then a bad break-up has Matt starting over on the East Coast. Putting all of his energy into his new job, he attends a kiteboarding tournament. It’s there he meets beautiful Samantha, a contestant. He can’t take his eyes off of her, but she doesn’t want a relationship. He can’t deny the connection between them, but he’ll have to convince her it’s the real deal and not some fling. If only he can find her… Can Matt and Sam ride the waves of life, or will they crash and burn?
Matt’s Mystic Connection is an intoxicating beach romance with all the feels. I didn’t know much about kiteboarding prior to reading this book but thanks to Katie O’Sullivan’s detailed narration, I’ve got to try it. I connected with both Sam and Matt right away. Both have had their hearts broken in the past and harbor trust issues. It was fun to watch these two fall in love and then deal with fear before figuring out love is worth the strife. I appreciated Katie O’Sullivan’s talking in detail from Sam’s point of view, on the double standard that is prevalent in sports where both men and women compete, which resonated with me. The setting is gorgeous and is one of the reasons why I read books written by Katie O’Sullivan. Through her lush descriptions and deep POV, Katie O’Sullivan transports the reader into the story. Every time I read one of Katie’s books, it’s like going on vacation. The romance is steamy and delicious, perfect for a summer beach read. If you’re a romance reader, you’ll want to dive into Matt’s Mystic Connection. If beach reads are your reading jam, don’t miss out on Matt’s Mystic Connection. Brilliant from start to finish, Matt’s Mystic Connection takes romance to the next level. Highly recommend!
