Hi, I’m Nan and I’m a USA Today bestselling author of sweet and sensual romance novels featuring women in their prime. I’m also a wife, a mom, a mother-in-law, and grandmother to an active little boy and two sweet dogs. I’ve been an antiques dealer, a bank teller, a stay-at-home mom, a secretary, and for the last 25 years, I’ve earned my living as a freelance copy editor and proofreader.
But writing is my first and most enduring passion. I can’t remember a time in my life when I wasn’t writing—I wrote my first romance novel at the age of ten. It involved a love story between the most sophisticated person I knew at the time, my older sister (who was in high school!), and a member of Herman’s Hermits. If you know who they are, you’re my audience! I’m still writing romance, but this time from the viewpoint of a wiser, slightly rumpled, woman in her prime instead of a starry-eyed preteen. I live in the Midwest with my husband of 51 years, where we divide our time between a house in the city and a cottage on a lake. My son, grandboy, and daughter-in-law are the lights of my life and spending time with them brings such joy.
I’ve completed 19 novels; including my first series, The Women of Willow Bay, and four sweet, small town contemporary romance series with Tule Publishing: The Four Irish Brothers Winery; The Lange Brothers; The Weaver Sisters trilogy; and The Walkers of River’s Edge series—all available or soon to be available at https://tulepublishing.com/authors/nan-reinhardt/. You can find my novels at all book retailers in both e-book and print.

Title Make It Real
Author Nan Reinhardt
Genre Sweet Contemporary Romance
Publisher Tule Publishing
Book Blurb:
They were only faking it … .
A landscape designer for his family’s construction firm, Joe Walker, is nearing completion on one of the most important projects of his career—gardens for spec homes that if they wow, Walker Construction will survive. When a freak accident sidelines him with a broken leg, the firm hires a competitor. Her ideas are radically different, but his stalker ex arrives to play nurse, and Joe needs more than gardening help.
After six-years working in English manor gardens, horticulturist Kara Sudbury returns to River’s Edge to help in her grandparents’ struggling garden center. She’s thrilled when Jackson Walker hires her to execute his injured cousin’s designs. Ignoring Joe is difficult because he’s as sexy now as he was in high school and even more stubborn. But when Joe asks Kara to play the role of girlfriend, they strike a deal that will help Joe handle his tenacious ex and put Sudbury’s Nursery back in the black. Kara’s up for the subterfuge…for a price, but then the pretense feels real, and Kara is reminded that every rose has its thorns.
Excerpt:
She laughed out loud—a sexy, throaty sound that sent a startling tingle through him. “Yeah, you were so bowled over by my unbelievable beauty, you tripped over a log, broke your leg, and damn near shot me.” She rose, swept her hands over her Sudbury Garden Center T-shirt and crumpled khaki shorts. “Because this”—she yanked off her ball cap, raked her fingers through her curls, and pulled a goofy face—“was the sexiest thing you’d seen since Allyson’s behind in a pair of tight jeans.” She dropped back into the padded chair. “Sure. Why not?”
“Come on, we can do this,” Joe urged, because now he was intrigued with the whole idea of Kara Sudbury. She was cute and funny, and he found the little bit of self-deprecation pretty damn appealing. “Please be my girlfriend until Allyson is convinced you are, then we can part ways amicably. But we have to convince everyone, not just Allyson. It has to look real.”
“So, we fake passion until hers cools? Then we just say, oh, we decided to call it a day.”
“Exactly!” Joe was exultant. Surely this would get batshit-crazy Allyson off his case, and he could focus on healing without being scared to answer his door. “But, remember, everyone has to buy this: your family, your friends, my family, my friends. Oscar-worthy performances by both of us.”
She squinted at him. “Just one question?”
“Okay.”
“What’s in this for me?” She still had her arms crossed over her chest.

Book Blurb:
When his family’s company is on the line, business and pleasure definitely don’t mix, but maybe they should…
Madeline Ross left the city and a career glass ceiling behind, hoping to build a new life as the crew supervisor for Walker Construction in River’s Edge. She’s qualified and experienced, but new CEO Jackson Walker hires someone else. Even as she searches for a different job and builds a life in River’s Edge, the sexy memory of Jack teases.
After a rough year, Jackson Walker’s family business is still struggling. He needs a new construction crew supervisor, and Maddie Ross is perfect, except for the first time in his life, player Jack is suddenly smitten with the curvaceous redhead. He wants her in his bed more than on his payroll.
When his second-rate new hire is a disastrous mistake, Jack humbles himself on Maddie’s doorstep with an offer she can’t refuse. Maddie could be the key to saving his company as long as he hides his heart. But does he have to?
EXCERPT:
“Careful now.” That deep voice was familiar, but Maddie was in no position to even turn her head at that point.
“T-thanks,” she managed and got her balance back.
The firm hold remained as a blond head peered over the boxes. “Let me take some of those for you.”
Jackson Walker?
One step below her, Jack lifted the top two boxes, leaving her only one, and when she moved her face toward his voice, his lips were mere inches from hers. His blue eyes smoldered dark navy and, for a moment, time stood still.
Maddie closed her eyes. Time does not stand still. Open your eyes, stupid, and get moving. She opened her eyes, but he was there so close, she felt his minty breath mingling with hers. When she opened them, he was gazing at her as if he wanted to . . . but he held back for a second, waiting, giving her time, it seemed, to say no. When she didn’t . . and then he did.
Clutching the boxes in one arm as if they held nothing more than feathers and moving his hand from her waist to grasp the banister behind her, Jack leaned in and very lightly touched his warm, full lips to hers. Her eyes closed again, automatically, and when he tipped his head and deepened the kiss, every nerve ending in her body went on point. The kiss was a crazy contradiction of gentle and passionate, sweet and sensual.
Bless whoever taught this man to kiss because she could’ve stood there in the rain forever in a lip-lock with Jackson Walker.

He ticks every one of her “never again” boxes…
Jo Weaver loves her job as a boat mechanic for her family’s marina in River’s Edge, Indiana. But when she’s pulled away from her high school reunion with her sisters to fix a stranded yacht, she can’t restrain her irritation. Jo doesn’t like wealthy men who think they can have whatever they want, and she has no intention of falling for rich and charming again.
Born into the international Briggs Hotels empire, Alex Briggs has never felt comfortable with his life of privilege. Abandoning his family’s business to pursue medical research, he’s far more at home in his lab. When the yacht he restored himself breaks down on the way to an important conference, Alex begrudgingly goes in search of a boat mechanic and falls, literally, into Jo Weaver’s arms. The fireworks he feels are impossible to ignore.
Jo does her best to keep Alex in the business zone, but he keeps slip
ping into something more. Can she trust her fragile heart, especially when Alex and his life-altering research are so far from River’s Edge?
Excerpt:
She glanced up. “It doesn’t matter what age you are, Alex. You’re a customer. Besides, I don’t really date much, and when I do, I tend to go for older—” She clamped her lips shut.
He blinked, and shook his head to clear it, and came back to what she’d started to say. “Like that Sinatra wannabe at the dance?” He didn’t know if it was the dinner jacket or the longing in Joanna’s eyes when she’d looked at him, but something about the guy had really bugged him. “Are you dating him?”
“No.” Her answer was clipped.
Alex couldn’t decide if she was pissed because he asked or pissed because she and Sinatra weren’t a couple. Either way, he wanted to know because, if she was firmly attached to a hometown dude, well, then Ari was way off base. But the urgency of her nudges made him believe she wasn’t. Joanna Weaver was an enigma—a beautiful, smart enigma. Someone had hurt her bad enough, though, for her to be closed up like an abandoned building. And he wasn’t sure he had enough of the Briggs charisma to unlock that door.
Jo gave Boris a final pat and then rose and moved several feet away along the railing to the overlook. “Why on earth would that be any of your business?”
“It isn’t, except that I want to ask you out, but if you’re involved with anyone here, I probably should respect that boundary and turn around and go back to my boat. Any nice guy would, right?”
She nodded, her eyes wide. “Yes, any nice guy would.”

Her heart is wide open, but he’s nailed his shut.
Preschool teacher Harley Cole has always viewed life through rose-colored glasses. With a career she loves, friends she enjoys, and a home that is her haven, there’s only one thing missing—finding her soul mate. As the holidays approach, Harley is inspired to help her former high school crush rediscover his holiday joy. It’s just a good deed…until the feelings she thought were gone come rushing back.
Fire Chief Becker Lange returns home to River’s Edge with a heavy heart. His divorce has emotionally ravaged him, leaving him more confused than ever about what women want. So to protect himself from another failure, he closes his heart. And then Harley Cole makes him a flirty dare that she can help him overcome the holiday blues. Beck’s not sure he wants to, but Harley’s a hard woman to tell no.
Can the magic of Christmas and a sweet stray kitten bring these two lonely souls together?
Excerpt:
Beck’s horror-stricken expression would have been comical if Harley hadn’t had a good idea what he was thinking. She was proved right when, aghast, he said, “What? You think I should do what?”
She offered a reassuring smile. “Dating, Beck. Stop looking at me like I’m suggesting that you join a satanic cult or go on a crime spree across the country. I just think you should start dating again.”
“Why?” He leaned back as Sheila placed a plateful of chicken and noodles and mashed potatoes in front of him, along with a side dish of green beans and a basket of biscuits. “I mean why now all of a sudden?”
“It’s not all of a sudden. I’ve been thinking it for a few weeks now. Well, since Valentine’s Day, frankly, when you sat in the corner at Four Irish Brothers looking cranky while the rest of us toasted Kitt and Rye.”
He held up his coffee cup. “I toasted them.”
Harley shook out a napkin and laid it across her lap before taking a bite of her fish, which was as delicious as Mac had promised. “Yeah, with a look on your face that said you thought it was a huge pain in the butt to do it.”
“I remember that night as being very…nice. Rye and Kitt are a great couple.” He scooped up a forkful of potatoes and chicken and noodles, clearly savoring it as he chewed and swallowed, before going after the green beans with great relish. The guy loved to eat, no question. And how unfair was it that he could eat like a lumberjack and stay sleek as a panther?

Excerpt:
“Are you done?” He choked out, also not moving back.
“I don’t know.”
“Well, decide, because I’m going to kiss you.”
“No, you’re not.”
“I’m pretty sure I am.” Aidan took a step closer, pressing her against the railing with his body and set his hands on the rail on either side of her.
Her eyes closed and he felt her trembling. Or he was. He couldn’t tell anymore. He was confused and aching. He lifted his hands and took one step back. “Leave, Holly, because I really, really want to kiss you, but I can’t if you’re not all in.”
Holly eyed him with suspicion. “I’m not sure I’ll ever be all in with you, Aidan Flaherty.” With that she reached up and put one small hand behind his head, tugging his face down to hers. Her lips touched his, gently at first, just a whisper of a kiss. When she increased the pressure, the kiss building in urgency, Aidan wasn’t confused anymore. He knew exactly what he wanted.
He pulled her into his arms, thrusting his fingers into the soft hair on the back of her head, holding her still for his mouth while she wrapped her arms around his neck. The flicker of desire that had started when she’d walked onto the deck began to burn inside him, and he slid. Almost. But when she touched her seeking tongue to the seam of his lips, he opened for her, tasting coffee and butterscotch and some unique flavor that was intoxicatingly Holly.
