She is his best friend's sister. That makes her off limits, right?
Ava Young owns Legends, an exclusive London nightclub. The club has become quite the success, which is more than can be said for her love life. Not into vanilla, she craves a man who can give her some more exotic play. But any thought of a relationship is put on hold when Ava discovers that she has a stalker. Can she stop whoever is sending her dark gifts without involving the police, or worse, her ex-SAS brother sending her a babysitter?
Kace Adler is about to take a well-earned break after getting his new security business off the ground. But when his best friend and former brother-in-arms asks him to protect his sister, he can't refuse. Dreading the assignment because he's been warned Ava won't accept help easily, Kace finds she's worse than expected. She pushes all his buttons and he finds it increasingly more difficult not to provide what she desperately needs, a firm hand and some kinky play. Except Ava is out of bounds and Kace doesn't mix business with pleasure.
Publisher's Note: This action-filled romance contains a theme of power exchange and steamy scenes.
Excerpt:
Kace watched Ava move through the crowded nightclub, mingling with her members. The cameras he had installed enabled him to see everywhere, much more easily than if he'd been out there amongst the throng. His earpiece let him hear what the bouncers were saying, as well as Ava, for he'd convinced her to wear a hidden microphone. Although, where the hell she'd managed to hide it on that stunning, minuscule dress, he'd love to know. Yet, she wore more than any of the other women in the club. Maybe that's why she stood out. Mind on the job, Kace.
There was feedback in his ear when something moved against a microphone. Kace frowned. It was Ava's. He switched cameras to see where she was, quickly noticing her in the crowded club. She brushed against someone, causing more feedback. A handsome bloke, who was only too happy to have her bump bodies with him. Kace gritted his teeth. Did she have to smile at the bloke like that? The man certainly seemed willing to take their encounter further. However, Ava moved on through the crowd, without looking back.
Kace relaxed. He had to get a grip. Ava was only doing her job as owner of Legends. She couldn't help squeezing past people in the crowded club, male or female. He knew that she needed to be friendly to her clients, to encourage them to spend money, even though it made him gnash his teeth when she was a little flirty with the men.
Ava moved near the front door of the club to greet the newcomers. And that's when a commotion started. Kace watched a man evade the bouncers on the door to charge toward Ava. Yelling orders into his mic, Kace raced out of the office to the club floor. Meanwhile, he could hear everything that was being said through Ava's hidden microphone.
"George?"
"Ava. I want you back. I can be what you need."
"No, George. We're over."
"Don't be like that."
There was a sound of a scuffle. Kace's heart pounded in his chest, as he burst into the club, pushing people out of the way so he could get to Ava. He arrived to find a man being held by two bouncers. Plenty of people had gathered to watch the drama unfold. Some were taking pictures or filming on their phones. The situation needed to be controlled immediately or the reputation of the club would suffer. Ava's clients paid a lot of money to come here. They needed to know they were safe in the club.
Kace strode over to the group. He nodded to the two bouncers. "Thanks, guys. I'll take it from here. George is an old pal of mine."
Kace grabbed the man by the arm as the bouncers released him. "George, mate. You've had a little bit too much drink to come in tonight. You know the rules. Let's go for a chat outside, shall we?" Kace didn't wait for an answer. He turned the man around and steered him out of the entrance.
"But I haven't been drinking. Besides, I want to speak to Ava."
"Not happening," Kace said in the man's ear.
Outside, they turned left, away from the queue of people waiting to enter the club. Once they were far enough away, Kace pulled the man into an alleyway. He shoved him against a brick wall, holding him in place by a strong grip on his shirt.
"Now. How do you know Ava?"
