Ben looked even better today. In the closer confines of the salon, he smelled good. Something rugged and spicy. And his hair had been artfully stirred up by the ride. Dang, he was cute, but he also had a lethal—yet good guy—competence that wasn’t surprising given his career choice.
Why did she have to resist the urge to shift from one foot to the other, not to mention wanting to twisted some strands of her hair around a finger?
Her hair was twisted up to keep it off her neck. What strands had escaped were not really suitable for twisting. She tried one of the thicker chunks and had to hide a wince. No, not suitable for that.
What was her problem?
She pulled off her sunglasses and tossed them onto a counter, turning back to their visitors. Her gaze intersected Dan’s—no, Agent Baker. The look in his eyes wasn’t too agenty. It almost seemed like something warm flared in their depths, before a professional mask replaced the friendly expression on his face.
