Title: Rose in the Desert
Author: K.M. Daughters
Genre: Inspirational Fiction, Christian Fiction
Book Blurb:
Anna Babic Robbins, dubbed "The Rose Of The Adriatic" by pilgrims to her village, leaves her homebound for America. She is to deliver secrets concerning the fate of the world to a Chicago priest who will shepherd mankind to prepare to hear God speak.
Four women travel to Las Vegas, and while there, snow begins to fall during triple digit heat. They soon learn that the non-accumulating snowfall is a worldwide phenomenon—a universal sign from God preceding the gift of a permanent sign inexplicable by earthly standards.
With the culmination of these miraculous events, all their paths intersect, and God will reveal His plans to each soul on earth.
Will mankind listen?
My Review:
Anna has a special gift, gifted to her by the Virgin Mary, and thus many have called her the 'Rose of the Adriatic'. One afternoon, she goes to pray and the Almighty tells her she must travel to Chicago. There she will share what God has in store for all of mankind and the Chicago priest Anna shares her message with will prepare believers to hear God speak. As miracles happen across the globe, one thing is clear: God's plan will change the course of all humanity. But will they listen, or will they chalk it up as nonsense?
Rose in the Desert is an uplifting, faith-based story the world needs right now. Lyrical narration drew me in from the start and I connected with Rose and her family immediately. The characterization is so well done, each character became a part of me. The plot moves at a nice easy pace with a few twists I didn't expect. When I reached the ending, my heart and spirit felt cleansed. I know it sounds silly, but I am a better believer thanks to reading this book. If you're a fan of inspirational fiction like C.S. Lewis and Francine Rivers, you'll love Rose in the Desert. Highly recommend!
