Excerpt:

Bolting past the three geysers, he skidded to a stop behind her "Miss, you need to come away from there," he ordered. Her purple hair and brown skin shimmered in the humid air.

“Sssshhhh," she kept her hands on the edge.

"It’s due to go off,” he explained as he ducked when Ta-dum belched flame for the long one.

"Thank you," she murmured as she patted the edge. Rising from her knees, she stepped back from the massive geyser.

“You shouldn't, " Lowkas scolded as soon as she was safe. His heart nearly choked off his words.

"Don't be rude," she picked up her bag. "I have permission to be here."

"But not permission to…" Lowkas retorted.

He sputtered to a stop when she held up her long finger. She rummaged in her bag. When she couldn’t find what she needed, she handed it to him as she rifled through the contents. Finally, she pulled out a portfolio.

“Here we go,” she said taking her bag back. She held out the paper to him.

He snatched the paper and cringed away from the heat as she strode through the landscape.

“You shouldn't be afraid," she said. The Twins belched out their hot blue and red flames as she passed.

"Respectfully cautious,” Lowkas defended as he noted her pointed ears which accentuated her pointed narrow nose and the smooth jaw line coming almost to a point at her chin.

She chuckled, "Nice cover."
