My Review:

Captain Gil Fleming left on a solo mission long ago and it’s up to Maeve to lead a small rescue team. The only problem is Maeve is the ship’s computer residing in a humanoid body. Will they find Gil in time?

Star Cruise Captain’s Story is a brilliant science fiction romance from start to finish. Veronica Scott takes an original premise and makes it come alive. The world-building is flawless yet imaginative. The descriptive narration is very detailed. The characters are vibrant, emotional, and realistic. Any fan of Star Trek: TNG will find Star Cruise Captain’s Story an unputdownable read.

Let’s talk about our hero. Captain Gil Fleming is off on a secret mission. He doesn’t want anyone to be with him and he surely doesn’t want to be rescued. Gil is such an intriguing hero and everything you expect from a space captain. He’s emotional when he needs to be, stoic at other times. I thoroughly enjoyed the paradox he is. His complexities made me love him more.

Star Cruise Captain’s Story deals with a lot of themes, especially when it comes to Maeve. Veronica Scott presents it well and you’ll ponder your viewpoint on life, love, and self-aware artificial intelligence in space.

Star Cruise Captain’s Story is a feast for sci fi readers. There’s so much to love in Star Cruise Captain’s Story. Superbly written and worthy of your time reading. I can’t recommend this book enough.
