Title: Stars Over Montana – Cowboys of River Junction

Author: Lucinda Race

Genre: Contemporary Western Romance, Later in Life

Book Blurb:

The cowboy broke her heart but, he never stopped loving her. Now she’s back ready to run her grandfather’s ranch…

At the age of 20, Annie Grace left the family ranch, heartbroken, unsure if she’d ever return. But that all changed when her beloved grandfather, Pops, passed away. As his only heir, she’s come home to settle his affairs and run the family business. She wasn’t counting on Linc Cooper, the man who broke her heart, to be the new manager of the Montana spread. There’s just one problem, a developer wants to buy her ranch.

Linc Cooper never wanted to live his life without Annie by his side, but he deliberately ended their relationship so she could finish college and be a success in a city, far away from River Junction. He felt she deserved more than being a ranch hand’s wife. He may have pushed her away but he never stopped loving her. Over the last eighteen years he became Pops’ right-hand man moving up to run the ranch. Now with Pops gone, Annie’s back in the small cowboy town, but for how long?

Annie has to make a life-changing decision; sell and leave the ranch and Linc forever? Or, does she pull on her boots and permanently claim her home – and the cowboy she left behind?

My Review:

Annie’s been given a second chance at her legacy and at love…will she grab a hold or cut and run? When Pops died, he left the ranch to Annie. While she knows she can handle the family ranch, she’s unsure about working with Linc, the man who broke her heart years ago. Linc is the manager of the ranch and does a thorough job. Annie is not sure what to do. Sizzling tension still simmers just below the surface between them. A second chance at love has Annie’s heart pounding but Linc’s feelings on whether to sell the ranch or keep it for good has her stomach in knots. A developer wants to buy the ranch. Can Annie figure out the best plan for the ranch and her heart? Can she risk heartbreak again? The heart wants what the heart wants and for Annie, her path is clear.

Stars Over Montana – Cowboys of River Junction is a second-chance western romance I couldn’t stop reading. This story is chockful of emotions, and I loved reading every page of it. I connected with Annie right away. She’s an amazing woman with incredible inner strength. She also has a vulnerable side which made her seem very relatable. I also connected with Linc. He’s a rugged hero who sacrificed his happiness for Annie’s. He still loves her, and she loves him. The love they share needs to be sorted out before they can move forward. Misunderstandings and conflict abound for this couple which makes for addictive reading. The romance is at the heart of the book and it’s what makes Stars Over Montana – Cowboys of River Junction shine. Every emotion, every kiss, and every touch is beautifully portrayed. The descriptive narration is incredible and very detailed. The ins and outs of running a ranch are intricately detailed. If you’re a romance reader, pick up Stars Over Montana – Cowboys of River Junction. If sweet western romance is your reading jam, you’ll want to read this book. I look forward to the next book in this exciting series. Highly recommend!
