Excerpt:

Storm looked around the groups and clusters of people as she slowly made her way to gate B-6. She spotted a man walking out of the restroom and moving toward the water fountain. She glanced at his ring finger, noting it was bare. She looked around for anyone obviously waiting for him. He appeared to be traveling alone. She smiled at her perfect luck. He would do nicely.

She reached into her carry-on bag, curled her fingers around something, and approached the brown-haired man as he exited the restroom and moved to the drinking fountain.

Touching his shoulder, she whispered at his ear, “Play along with me. There’s twenty bucks in it for you.” Flinging herself against the wall by the fountain, she took him along, pressing her lips to his mouth and brushing her body against his.

She felt his stiffened shock and saw his brown eyes widen, but he did not back away. She reached down and captured his hands, placing them around her waist. She slowly inched one of his hands to her hip, near her butt, and laced her other hand through his thick, wavy hair. A shiver sliced over him, and she smiled at the reaction. Bolts of startled energy passed between Storm and the man she held.

He stood rigid, barely breathing. He kept the connection between their lips but without fully engaging.

She cast one eye on the pursuing duo. She watched them pass by, looking around at the other passengers. They barely gave the passionately kissing couple by the drinking fountain a second glance.

Finally, with the goons far enough ahead, she released him, licking her lips. Whatever gum he had been chewing tasted good, fruity, though she suspected he had now swallowed it. Pushing him away, she pressed a paper bill into his palm. “Thanks. Loosen up a little, though.” She tossed him a satisfied smile and sauntered away, her red carry-on swinging against her hip.

Author Biography:

Ryan Jo Summers comes from a family of wordsmiths. She wrote her first book, with illustrations, at age ten. Over the years, she illustrated less and written more. Her preferred niche is contemporary romance, blended with sub genres of time travel, Christian, suspense, paranormal, or any mix of those. She also writes non-fiction. She lives in the beautiful region of Western North Carolina in a century-old cottage, with a menagerie of rescued pets and entirely too many houseplants.
