N. N. Light’s Book Heaven is celebrating its tenth anniversary. Isn’t that wonderful?

I’d like to introduce you to mystery author Teresa Michael.

Question 1: Where were you ten years ago in relation to your author/writer career? If you weren’t writing, what were you doing?

Ten years ago, I was still working full-time as the Director of Health Information at a large healthcare system in Southwest Florida while also writing my first Mariposa Café Mystery, Murder in Mariposa Beach. It took me 9 years to finish and publish that novel.

Question 2: Looking back on the past ten years, how has your writing grown?

Over the last ten or more years, I’ve worked on improving my writing craft. I’ve attended in-person and virtual conferences, watched Zoom webinars, attended book fairs, joined and became active in writer’s organizations, and done as much as I could to improve my writing skills and learn as much as possible about publishing and marketing. After retiring in January 2020, I was able to spend more time on writerly activities.

Question 3: What are you doing now? How many books have you published?

I’ve written 4 books in the Mariposa Café Mystery series, and I’ve published the first book in a new series, Murder with a Terrace View – A Harrington House Mystery. I’m almost finished with the 2nd book in the Harrington House series. My next project after that will be another Mariposa Café mystery. I’m a past president and the current secretary of Florida Gulf Coast Sisters in Crime. I’m also a member of the Florida Chapter of Mystery Writers of America, the Author’s Guild, and the Women Fiction Writers Association.

A lover of reading, writing, and travel, Teresa has explored 49 states and managed the US Archery Team in two Olympic Games. She's a past president of the Florida Gulf Coast Chapter of Sisters in Crime and a member of Mystery Writers of America. Teresa lives in Sarasota, FL, with her husband. Murder with a Terrace View – A Harrington House Mystery, the first book in her new series, was recently released. Someday, she’ll visit that 50th state.
