A commotion sounded in the hall. As voices shouted, and heavy footsteps pounded, Logan's arms tensed, then he swept her behind him. Skylar wasn't sure what was happening, but her body instinctively braced for action. Seconds later, a man sporting wild hair and beard flew into the front lobby.
Holy moly. He weighed a solid two hundred and fifty pounds. His gaze blazed like fire, and she distinctly heard a growl. He scanned the small lobby. Then, he locked onto Logan before roaring like some lion and charged.
Logan positioned himself for impact, but the man had weight and momentum to his advantage. With one thump, Logan flew over the desk.
Uh-oh. Skylar stood between the wild man and the front door. Still clutching the envelope to her chest, she stepped aside to allow him a free run to the outside, but the man only focused on her and lunged.
