A family curse spirals an artist into madness and the only one who can save him is his devoted wife, Caitlin. After the sudden death of her husband’s brother, Caitlin and Trevor relocate to his brother’s home. Caitlin starts to notice Trevor’s odd behavior and his obsession with an old chair in the attic. No matter how much she tries to distract him, he’s laser-focused on the chair. Nightmares, visions, eerie sensations plague Caitlin. As Trevor slips into madness thanks to a Welch family curse, she discovers her witch powers. Can she use magic to save her husband from death? It may be Trevor’s inheritance, but Caitlin will use every power at her disposal to bring him back to her.
The Artist’s Inheritance is an eerie paranormal from start to finish. With equal parts haunting, possession, relationships, and magical realism, Juli D. Revezzo weaves a stunning masterpiece for paranormal lovers. Using descriptive narration, the reader can’t help but feel a part of the story. The POV is all Caitlin but that adds to the suspense of the overall plot. You feel every emotion she feels, from anxiety to confusion to panic to even claustrophobia, which added another layer to the story. The plot itself starts out slow but picks up speed as you continue reading. The characters are realistic and relatable. I’m not sure what I’d do in Caitlin’s place but after reading, I was an emotional wreck. The paranormal scenes are well done with plenty of spookiness to cause shivers to slide up your spine. The Artist’s Inheritance is a brilliant paranormal and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommend!
