Ida Farley is on an urgent mission to deliver something important to her father. A long train journey in the middle of winter is the least of her worries. Someone wants the precious item and Ida soon realizes she’s being followed.

James Farley is intrigued by the lovely young woman seated nearby and they strike up a friendship. But it isn’t long before he has to come to her rescue; someone is determined to steal something from her and James fears that she is in danger. Grateful for his help, Ida accepts his protection for the remainder of the journey.

As they do their best to reach their destination unscathed, James is drawn to Ida. Feelings spring to life, but before they can make plans for the future, disaster strikes and turns his life upside down. Was the price of their love too high, after all? James hopes Ida will wait … but someone else is closing in on her heart.

The Christmas Book is Book 2 in The Christmas Train series. It is clean and wholesome with no swearing, steamy scenes, or violence. It contains brief references to the faith of the characters. It can be read as a standalone but is best enjoyed as part of the series.

My Review:

I had been looking forward to the Ida story and this book didn't disappoint! The Christmas Train is a feature of this amazing story. The story of Ida and James is told in such an incredible fashion it keeps you flipping through the pages.

Such wonderful characters are presented here. The good characters are so charming and enjoyable to get to know. The bad guys are well defined too. You get a real feel for the heels of the story.

A charming Christmas book that starts you in the joyous season and ends there too. You get to enjoy the lengthy journey a heart sometimes has to take. If you are meant to be with someone, you sometimes just have to have faith and let life take you on the road. I did that personally and ended up with my soulmate so it can happen to fictional characters too if they want.

A lovely book that can be read as a standalone. You read this and you will want to read book one and then will be as eager as I am for the third book in the series!
