5 stars for The Count's Castaway by Award-Winning Bestseller @Aubreywynne51 #regency #pirate #books

Title: The Count’s Castaway

Author: Aubrey Wynne

Genre: Historical Romance/Pirate Regency

Book Blurb:

He’s escaping his past… She’s running toward her future… The present just got interesting.

Torn from her bed and indentured to an American as a child, Katherine Wilken demands her freedom seven years later. Denied her liberty, she stows away on The Escape, hoping to return to England. But when the ship sets sail, so does her heart. Katie soon realizes she’s once again a captive—of love.

Narrow escapes seem to be Count Alexandre Lecroix’s lot in life. Fleeing France as a boy during the Reign of Terror, he’s a man with no country and soon takes to the sea in search of his destiny. The Napoleonic Wars have filled his pockets and his zeal for excitement, but his heart remains hollow. When he discovers a feisty stowaway on board, he resists the squall of emotion she stirs within him.

Two lonely souls find passion in the turbulent waters of the Atlantic, each a fugitive of their past. As land draws near, Zander is torn between his desire for a woman and his hunger for the sea.

Can love survive once the ship has anchored, or will their newfound happiness founder?

My Review:

After seven years of indentured servitude, Katherine ‘Katie’ Wilken demands her freedom. When her freedom papers are torn up into tiny pieces, Katie’s heart plummets. Determined to return to England to find her grandparents, she stows away on a ship called The Escape. All seems to be going well until she is discovered and brought to the captain. She holds her ground and elicits the compassion of none other than Captain Alexandre Lecroix. She stays in his cabin, away from the prying eyes of the crew. As the days pass, her feelings for the rugged captain grows. When a bad storm puts her life in peril, will Katie survive long enough for her captain to give her his heart?

The Count’s Castaway is a bit of swashbuckling adventure rolled into a romance. A brave heroine, a suave wanderlust hero, a ship on the high seas and unexpected love all blend together to make this a must-read. Aubrey Wynne’s detailed narration creates a lush backdrop for The Count’s Castaway. My heart instantly went out to Katie and I found myself rooting for her to confess her feelings of love. If you’re like me and enjoy reading about romance on the high seas, pick up The Count’s Castaway. Highly recommend!
