My Review:
You could say someone is a hell of a composer and you might be closer to the truth than you know. Also, some could say that success in the music biz is like hell and that is close to the truth.
A modern take on the horror novel that will really grip someone who understands the inner workings of orchestral music. Who knew that Old Scratch decided it was easier to make deals than try to beat a southern guy at the fiddle?
A very interesting premise that opens up a pandora's box of horror for the people desperate enough to risk it all for fame. There is a secondary theme that is intriguing. One could opine that the inference is made that growing up in a hard-line Catholic home is a bit of hell on earth for some.
Character development is at times both subtle and jarring too. The characters slide into the story or hit you between the eyes. The intense nature of the horror will keep you on the edge of your seat.
A terrific addition to the horror genre that takes the reader into a different world. Try this one out and you may learn about the cutthroat nature of music composition as you have your pants scared off.
An excellent modern horror book.
