Book Blurb:

The Earl of Trent has been determined to escape marriage, but the angelic-eyed beauty lingering in his thoughts tempts him. Even more disconcerting, Lady Evangeline is being chased by dangerous men. But if Alistair can keep her safe, maybe he can convince her to warm his sheets the way she heats his temper.

Excerpt:

Even before he played the first note, Evangeline was transfixed by the man who sat before her wearing a blue waistcoat, his instrument resting against his chest and balanced between muscular thighs clad in skin-tight trousers.

Then the bow danced across the strings, and the rise and fall of the warm notes filled her chest. Here and there, a tinkling embellishment fluttered in her heart.

Meanwhile, Alistair’s eyes closed, his head tilted, and he swayed. He was one with his instrument and it was glorious.

Evangeline closed her eyes. Alistair’s touch traveled across the room, through his deep, woodsy music, to caress her skin. It fluttered from her ear, across her shoulder, and tickled its way up the nape of her neck. Then he was inside her, the strumming bow painting swirling warm tendrils of sound around her heart.

The notes came faster, louder, and more powerful. Unable to catch her breath, she gasped and opened her eyes.

Alistair watched her, his eyelids heavy, his pupils filled with passion. His fingers slid up and down the neck of the exquisite instrument as the angled bow attached to his floating elbow glided back and forth. His index finger pressed on a string, and his forearm vibrated. He exhaled and plucked.

Dear Lord. The reverberation from the string hitting the wood tingled Evangeline’s nipples. His middle finger pressed, vibrated, and her thighs parted ever so slightly.

The faster his fingers tapped, and the bow slid over strings, the more the pressure in her body built. If she were not careful, her gentle sways would turn into uncontrollable writhing. How could something so beautiful create physical pain?

The music crescendoed, and she cried out.

Hopefully, the clapping audience muffled her sound of ecstasy. However, Alistair gasped and his chest heaved as if he’d captured and inhaled her cry from across the room.

Evangeline pressed her thighs together and swallowed.
