Title: The Honey Jam Murder

Author: Meg Benjamin

Genre: Cozy Mystery

Book Blurb:

It’s summertime, but the living’s not easy for Roxy Constantine. There’s a beehive thief loose in Shavano County, and her beloved Nate Robicheaux has hired her high school crush as his assistant. Looks like the perfect time to create a honey-sweetened jam for the summer months. But then the honey thefts turn serious, and a woman is murdered at the biggest barbecue of the year. Roxy thinks she sees a connection between a mysterious honey company and the Shavano crime wave, but her quest for information leads to a terrifying encounter that sends her to the hospital. Now she needs answers, and her fugitive long-lost love may be the only one who has them.

My Review:

It’s summertime and there’s a rash of honey thefts in town. When someone is murdered, Roxy’s on the case. Murder is anything but sweet and Roxy will have to be careful, or the sting might be deadly.

The Honey Jam Murder is an engrossing small town cozy mystery from Meg Benjamin. The descriptive narration, dialogue, setting, and engaging characters blend together to make a flavorful mystery. The writing is cozy yet complex. Readers will enjoy the subtlety of the clues. The mainstay of the mystery and the series is the jam making which I found fascinating.

Roxy is the star of The Honey Jam Murder and this time, she’s got several minor crimes plus a major crime to solve. I like the way her mind works, sifting through all the info to find clues worth following up on.

Meg Benjamin writes characters you’ll relate to and connect with. Even the minor characters are interesting. I love the quirky townsfolk. These minor characters add depth and intrigue to the mystery.

Meg Benjamin pens another cozy mystery worth reading. I’m growing attached to Roxy and the rest of the people in town. Plus, I want to try all the jam. Take my advice and read The Honey Jam Murder. It’s a tasty cozy mystery.

My Rating: 5 stars
