Title: The Lady and the Rogue
Author: Ruth A Casie
Genre: Regency Romance, Historical Romance
Book Blurb:
Feisty and passionate. He’ll enjoy making her fall in love with him… or die trying.
Lady Euphemia Brandt finds herself in a whirlwind of intrigue when she is someplace she shouldn’t be and is mistaken for a nobleman's clandestine rendezvous. Caught by surprise, the nobleman falls and is knocked out. Euphemia 'borrows' enough coin for a cab home. Little does she know, the man she's crossed paths with is embroiled in a mission to uncover a conspiracy against the Prime Minister.
They meet again at a country house party, where Lord Thornton, still reeling from his unexpected encounter with Euphemia, realizes she holds the key to solving the conspiracy. Determined to uncover the truth, Thornton sets out to court Euphemia and presents himself to her father as a suitor in order to stay close to her.
Together, they delve into the shadows of society to unravel the web of betrayal. But as they draw closer to the truth, Thornton must confront a truth of his own—he never intended to fall for Lady Euphemia, yet now he cannot imagine a future without her.
In a world where secrets abound, and love is a risk worth taking, will Euphemia and Thornton's alliance lead them to victory or to the ultimate sacrifice?
My Review:
Mistaken identity leads to a kiss neither can forget. When Thornton discovers who the lady in the scarlet bonnet is, he vows to make her his. He needs her help to find a missing woman and uncover a plot to kill the Prime Minister. What Thornton doesn’t count on is losing his heart.
The Lady and the Rogue is a Regency romance with a little intrigue and a whole lot of fun. Ruth A. Casie has outdone herself and brings a highly entertaining story for readers to enjoy. The descriptive narration is flawless. The romance is realistic, historically accurate, and full of emotion. Truthfully, it’s the characters that make The Lady and the Rogue an unputdownable read.
Let’s talk about these characters. Effie is a lady who’s an accomplished pianist. Music infuses every aspect of her life. Her passion for music leads her on a merry chase to love. I connected with her on so many levels. Her wit, charm, and passion are delightful to read. She makes a great partner for Thornton. She’s also fearless, even in the most dangerous circumstances.
Thornton is a duke who works for the Crown. He’s a man of action but also of emotion. He falls first which was a refreshing change. You’ll lose your heart to him.
Ruth A. Casie has penned a wonderful Regency romance. I couldn’t put it down. I got so caught up in the story, I read late into the night. Take my advice and pick up The Lady and the Rogue today. An enticing historical romance.
