My Review:
A mother willing to do whatever it takes to protect her child, a man who'll move mountains to claim her, and the hands of destiny carving out their future.
The Leader of Lors is book two in this trilogy and I admit, I liked this one better than book one. Maybe it was due to knowledge of the world of Atriia including the language. I really appreciate the glossary of terms at the end of the book so I can learn what the words and phrases mean.
In this book, the emotional tension takes a different direction. Instead of focusing on herself, Christine puts all of her energies into caring for and protecting her child. Right from the first page, the author eloquently describes the outpouring of love a mother feels for her child. It captured my heart and there were many times when I got choked up.
The plot was straightforward with a large cast of characters, plenty of twists and turns I didn't see coming, action scenes, and more. The romance, like in book one, was very dark and had a violent current running throughout the story. If you love your fantasy dark and edgy, pick up The Leader of Lors. A gripping read from start to finish. I look forward to reading the final installment in this trilogy. Highly recommend!
