Title: The Siren’s Song

Author: Andrew Weston

Genre: Dark Fantasy, Dark Paranormal, Horror, Paranormal Horror

Book Blurb:

Having survived the double-cross planned by Asmodai, the demon king, and Fanon, his own spawn-father, Augustus Thorne is trying to come to terms with his lot in life. Both Fanon and Agamemnon, the king’s assassin, are dead. As are the embers of a burgeoning relationship. The only woman Augustus has ever dared to love has fled, driven from his side in fear of the danger being with him brings.

Unfortunately, he can’t dwell on what might have been. An insidious new threat has emerged, one that exposes humanity to unimaginable peril. Yet fate seems to lend a helping hand when Augustus stumbles upon a mysterious woman, someone who appears to be the only other Cambion he’s ever met. It’s only after they team up to fight the rising tide of terror together that things get complicated.

My Review:

Will Augustus be lured into another trap, or will he forge an alliance that’ll protect him? After dealing with betrayal upon betrayal, Augustus recovers from it all. He’s just not sure where to go or what to do. He’s also dealing with losing the only woman he’s ever loved. No, Colleen didn’t perish but fled after she witnessed what it means to be with him. He doesn’t blame her. There’s something to take his mind off of his problems, though. A new plan has emerged and an innocent has been kidnapped. It’s up to Augustus to save her. As he hunts down the new threat, he runs into another cambion. A female one and his interest is piqued. But who she is and what her game is remains a mystery. They team up to fight this new threat and what happens next reveals some startling truths behind Augustus’ birth, his parents, and his purpose. Will the demon army eliminate him, or will he live to fight another day?

The Siren’s Song is a stimulating paranormal horror I thoroughly enjoyed. This is book three in this series and it’s the best one, in my opinion. There’s a hidden enemy in Augustus’ midst and it was a thrilling time watching Augustus figure it out. There are a lot of characters to keep track of, yet they add such vibrancy to the overall story. The stakes are higher than they have ever been for Augustus which had me whipping through the pages until the very end. The ending took me by surprise and yes, I gasped a few times. The plot moved at an excellent pace with descriptive narration and intricate action scenes. Andrew Weston is a master storyteller whose world-building is second to none. I can’t wait to read the next installment in this series. If you read paranormal, dark fantasy, or horror, you’ve got to read The Siren’s Song. If dark fantasy is your reading jam, pick up The Siren’s Song. This can be read as a standalone. Highly recommend!
