My Review:

Rebuilding her life after political scandal, Naomi Adelman has sworn off love. She refuses to even think about it, no matter what her mother opines. All that matters is starting over and protecting her two daughters. But life, it seems, has other plans. Naomi's handsome next-door neighbor, Max, is sweet, charming and makes her heart beat fast. She's cautious, though, and whenever he brings up the past, she changes the topic. The more time she spends with Max, the faster she falls for him. But when Max's exposé article comes to light, Naomi retreats into her shell and does everything she can to protect her daughters. Can Naomi and Max reconcile and forge a path to love or will she rip up her ticket to true love?

Whispers in Washington is a wonderful romance featuring a mature heroine and hero. Naomi and Max make for great reading. I connected with Naomi right away. My heart went out to her for all that she has had to endure. Max is definitely book boyfriend worthy. His charm and natural affection for Naomi won my heart. What makes this such an engaging read, though, is the political aftermath Naomi goes through. Normally when a political scandal hits, no one pays attention to what happens to the wife and children after the husband is arrested. Jennifer Wilck takes us inside the mind of the wife and children post-scandal. The romance between Naomi and Max is slow-burning but chockful of emotion. The plot moves at a steady pace with plenty of conflict for the couple to overcome. Descriptive narration right down to the food at Naomi's favorite restaurant had me salivating. This is the best book Jennifer Wilck has written to date. If you're looking for a romance with mature characters and immense depth, pick up Whispers in Washington today. Highly recommend!

Author Biography:

Jennifer started telling herself stories as a little girl when she couldn’t fall asleep at night. Pretty soon, her head was filled with these stories and the characters that populated them. Even as an adult, she thinks about the characters and stories at night before she falls asleep or walking the dog. Eventually, she started writing them down. Her favorite stories to write are those with smart, sassy, independent heroines; handsome, strong and slightly vulnerable heroes; and her stories always end with happily ever after.

In the real world, she’s the mother of two amazing daughters and wife of one of the smartest men she knows. When she’s not writing, she loves to laugh with her family and friends, is a pro at finding whatever her kids lost in plain sight, and spends way too much time closing doors that should never have been left open in the first place. She believes humor is the only way to get through the day and does not believe in sharing her chocolate.

She writes contemporary romance, some of which are mainstream and some of which involve Jewish characters. She’s published with The Wild Rose Press and all her books are available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble and The Wild Rose Press.
