Genre: Historical Western Romance, Time Travel Romance, Historical Paranormal Romance
Book Blurb:
Douglas Eagle Greyeyes, shapeshifter and member of the Blackfoot tribe, rescues a beautiful woman, but the signs in the stars tell him her arrival in his world is not accidental. His mortal enemy will soon attack, and the woman could either save or destroy him. Vanessa O’Casey witnesses her mother’s hit-and-run death. Descended from Irish Travelers, she and her mother never settled anywhere, and Vanessa finally realizes they were running from someone. But she never asked to be sent to another time. When the killer finds Vanessa, she and Greyeyes must fight—not just for their lives but against their growing attraction—if they are to defeat a common enemy as powerful as the forces of nature.
My Review:
Thrust into the past, can Vanessa find her way home? Vanessa lives in modern times yet feels restless. She’s never gotten over witnessing the death of her mother. She walks into a shop and there sits a woman and a child. The woman offers to fix her glass sample. It’s a strange encounter yet the next minute Vanessa wakes up on a movie set, or so she thinks. It’s like an old west re-enactment camp. Very bizarre. A burly man named Greyeyes keeps telling her she’s in Wylder in the late 19th century. Why is she here? Why are men shooting at her? And why does she have such a strong attraction to Greyeyes? She’s never been one to back down, but can she fight alongside Greyeyes?
Wylder Times is a time-travel western romance I couldn’t put down. There’s something magical about time-travel romance and in Wylder Times, it’s even more special. I connected with Vanessa right away. She’s a wonderful heroine who reacts to her surroundings with realism. Her inner thoughts and feelings were pretty much mine if I experienced the same thing. Greyeyes is the epitome of a classic hero. He’s haunted by the past and is running out of time. His enemy wants to destroy him and his only chance at survival is to put his trust in a modern woman who thinks he’s crazy. The stakes ratchet up the plot along with the descriptive narration. The plot is well developed with action scenes, historical accuracy, a full cast of characters, and a paranormal subplot. Once I started reading, I couldn’t put the book down. Pam Binder is a prolific author who shows off her writing skills with Wylder Times. I’ve been a fan for years, yet this book stands out. It’s an immersive adventure from start to finish. If you love time-travel western romance, you need to read Wylder Times. Brilliantly written, Wylder Times will whisk you away. Highly recommend!
